In Search of a Commercial Insurance Customer-oriented service representative for an Independent Agency based in Texas with Multi State operations. Basic Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  •   Manage incoming phone calls

Requirements and skills

Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster to join our growing organization. As a member of our claims department you will investigate claims, evaluate potential exposure and develop a resolution strategy for claims that you are assigned to manage.

The Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Administer claims pursuant to the organization's established Claims Handling and Best Practices
  • Investigation of assigned claims to confirm compensability
  • Establish claim reserves to reflect anticipated exposure
  • Manage the assignment of nurse case managers, vocational rehab counselors, and/or legal counsel
  • Initiate and manage the payment of indemnity benefits, medical bills and vendor invoices
  • Report to excess insurance carriers
  • Pursue and manage Subrogation and Second Injury Fund recoveries
  • Coordinate eventual settlement or closure of file
  • Attend mediations or trials when requested
  • Comply with Medicare reporting requirements
  • Maintain high level of customer service

  • Candidate must possess a valid Louisiana adjuster license.
  • Candidate must have 2+ years of prior Louisiana Workers' Compensation claims experience handling an indemnity/lost time case load.
  • The potential candidate must be knowledgeable in all aspects of evaluating and handling workers' compensation claims and corresponding workers' compensation statutes.
  • Strong negotiation skills are required along with exceptional organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with injured workers, employers, and medical providers.
  • The candidate will be expected to manage claims via a web-based claims program. A strong knowledge of PDF, Word, and Excel programs is recommended.

General Manager Position
The General Manager is responsible for all activities of RMI. RMI, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Louisiana Municipal Association (LMA) serves as service agent of the sponsored interlocal risk pools for Public Liability, Workers Compensation, Accident and Health, and Reinsurance trust.

Serving under the direction of the RMI board of directors, the general manager, with the assistance of departmental management, is responsible for the development/revision and implementation of administrative processes, rules and procedures to assure effectiveness and efficiency of marketing, underwriting, claims administration, public relations, billing/collection, and training for municipalities eligible to participate in the various risk pools sponsored by the LMA.
