We are adding another experienced Commercial Broker/Producer Team member to our Mandeville, LA location. This position requires prior insurance experience in MGA/Wholesale Surplus Lines underwriting/brokerage and strong retail agency relationships.
Compensation: Based on experience and relationships with retail agencies and markets. Base pay plus commission/bonus schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Build relationships with agencies to place business through our various markets.
- Build relationships with our Binding and Brokerage Markets.
- Underwrite, quote and bind business with our in-house binding facilities.
- Qualify and prepare accounts for our brokerage markets.
- Follow through with producers and markets on submissions.
- Negotiate with markets and producers to place accounts.
- Work with your Team to process the business timely and accurately.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Background of underwriting and placing Surplus Lines type business.
- Experience and knowledge of P&C forms and coverages, rating through various markets, brokerage procedures, and terminology.
- Problem solving and ability to analyze accounts and make underwriting decisions.
- Strong goal oriented with desire to learn.
- Insurance P&C license a plus, and if not, must obtain.
- Strong relationships with retail agencies and markets.
- Ability to work and strive in a Team environment.

General Manager Position
The General Manager is responsible for all activities of RMI. RMI, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Louisiana Municipal Association (LMA) serves as service agent of the sponsored interlocal risk pools for Public Liability, Workers Compensation, Accident and Health, and Reinsurance trust.
Serving under the direction of the RMI board of directors, the general manager, with the assistance of departmental management, is responsible for the development/revision and implementation of administrative processes, rules and procedures to assure effectiveness and efficiency of marketing, underwriting, claims administration, public relations, billing/collection, and training for municipalities eligible to participate in the various risk pools sponsored by the LMA.
