In 2008, PIA of Louisiana contracted with Bankers Insurance Company
to make available Bankers' products to PIA Members who ordinarily
may not meet appointment eligibility requirements.
Through this arrangement, PIA of Louisiana acts as a producer for
the company, and members who are added to the PIA Program act as
sub-producers of PIA.
Bankers appointments are available for flood only or all lines of
business available in Louisiana (at-risk products). All
PIA Members are eligible to receive a
flood appointment,
provided the agency is not excluded by carrier non-compete agreement
stipulation. However, PIA Members may also seek an appointment
with Bankers for at-risk products. Agencies may still be required
to meet some specifications, and these all-lines appointments may
be limited for or unavailable to agencies due to a variety of issues,
including capacity issues or non-compete or reinsurer stipulations.

What's in It for the Agency:
This arrangement affords PIA Members the opportunity to gain
an appointment with this high-caliber company with which the
member may ordinarily not meet appointment criteria.
For example, agents on the PIA Program are not required to
provide production commitments, making an appointment a
possibility for small, main-street agencies, providing them a
competitive edge. Further, once the agency has reached a
specified level of production with Bankers, the agency is
eligible to receive a direct contract with the company.
How an Agency Applies for Appointment:
Interested agencies should contact Natalie Cooper at the
PIA office at (800) 349-3434 for additional information
about availability and/or to begin the appointment process.
NOTE: Appointments and/or product eligibility may vary
by agency and/or parish due a number of limitations, including
capacity conditions, an ongoing non-compete
agreement stipulations, or reinsurer requirements.
