PIA of Louisiana Education Scholarship Overview

Each year, PIA of Louisiana awards up to four scholarships per year at $250 for each recipient. Scholarships may be used toward the following designation programs:

  • Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA)
  • Trusted Risk Advisory (TRA)
  • Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR)
  • Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC)
  • Certified Service Manager (CSM)
  • Certified Professional Risk Manager (CPRM)
  • Certified School Risk Manager (CSRM)

Other designations may be accepted but need to be approved by Member Benefits Committee.

Requirements for Application Submission

  • Individual must be employed full-time by a PIA Member.
  • Must demonstrate commitment to pursuing the designation for which the scholarship is awarded.
  • Individual must meet the eligibility requirement to attend the designation program selected.
  • Application submissions must be received by October 31st.
  • Awarded scholarships must be used by December 31st of the following year.

Benefits of Scholarship

  • Each recipient's name, brief bio and what type of work interests he/she has may be published in PIA of Louisiana publications, website and/or social media.
  • PIA will provide payment directly to the institution along with the registration or will reimburse participant if acceptable receipt is provided.
