PIA of Louisiana members are well represented in both DC as well as Louisiana.
PIA of Louisiana
At the state level, PIA of Louisiana’s Governmental Affairs Committee advocates for the Louisiana independent insurance agent, reviewing bills and advocating for legislation that will improve the insurance marketplace in our state. The purpose of the Governmental Affairs Committee is to maintain a current awareness of pending and proposed insurance legislation or regulation in the state, and to endeavor to positively influence the same on behalf of the PIA of Louisiana membership.

PIA National
PIA monitors all the bills and administrative rules that are introduced, looking carefully at proposals that relate to the insurance and financial services industry. PIA advocates in favor of proposals that are good for agents and the independent channel and works against those that might harm independent agents or the industry as a whole.
In Washington, D.C., you have a team of federal lobbyists at PIA National working for your interests in the House, Senate, White House and in regulatory agencies.
PIA of Louisiana leadership regularly attends PIA’s Annual Leadership Conference & Advocacy Day, where we meet with other PIA affiliates in DC to discuss issues. We also meet with Louisiana’s Congressional Leadership to advocate for the independent insurance agent.
