PIA Ambassador Responsibilities, Criteria & Recognition
We ask all Ambassadors to attend your local Chapter Meetings and statewide events whenever possible and engage new and prospective members.
- Proudly wear your PIA Ambassador Pin to PIA and industry functions.
- Provide a welcome kit or Ambassador card to prospects (PIA will provide you with pocket-sized copies of cards, which will include a snapshot of benefits and QR code the prospective member can use to find more information.)
Actively recruit new members and fortify retention of 1st year members in PIA of Louisiana by initiating personal outreach in the following ways:
- Inviting prospective and existing members to events
- Answering questions about membership
- Making personal phone calls
- Emailing/forwarding information you think the agent would find beneficial
- If you have an existing relationship with a non-member agent, start by inviting them to a Chapter Event and also keep PIA State Office involved, so we may assist with follow up.
Participate in new member outreach during PIA’s Annual Convention and serve on the Convention Welcome Committee
Ambassadors are asked to attend a bi-monthly conference call, lasting no more than 20-30 minutes. Ambassadors will report their progress with member contacts.
- Has been a member of PIA, in good standing, for at least 1 year.
- Has been an active member evident by serving at PIA of Louisiana events or on a local chapter board of directors, on a PIA Committee, and /or on the Young Insurance Professionals board or committees.
- Has a personal story of how PIA has made a positive impact on you and you are willing to share that.
Participation as PIA Ambassador provides benefits to you as well. Ambassadors will enjoy these benefits:

- Inclusion on PIA’s website and social media, as well as special promotional pieces.
- Increased networking opportunities as Ambassadors connect one-to-one with new PIA Members and build lasting relationships.
